Happy Constitution Day!

230 years ago today, our Founding Fathers signed one of the most important documents in history: the United States Constitution.

It was written with you and me in mind: “We the people,” to “form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity.”

Some Americans ask whether or not the Articles of the Constitution are relevant to issues we face today.  John York of The Heritage Foundation answered this well:

“The Founders knew that the societal concerns and policy questions particular to their time would eventually be resolved and new issues would arise to take their place.”  Read the full article here!

The Constitution and its amendments ensure Americans are treated fairly with safety and justice.  That is exactly why it is our job today to uphold its words.  We are privileged live in this nation. We the people must defend the Constitution, know what it says and why.
